Thought I'd share a snip it from my UPPER ROOM, daily devotional this morning that just filled my heart with Hope this 1st Sunday in Advent 2016:

Luke 5:12-15
“Lord, if you want, you can make me clean.”
Jesus reached out his hand, touched him, and said, “I do want to. Be clean.”

I started to reflect, how would my life be different, if I heard The Lord say that to me?  How would my life be different if I actually believed that?  To hear the words, "I do want to. Be clean".

ADVENT WORSHIP LITANIES

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT: Hope in the House of the Lord
Speak: I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” (Ps. 122:1, NRSV).
Light the first candle, the candle of hope. Read: Psalm 122 and Isaiah 2:1-5
Reflect: The Israelites staked their lives on the promise that one day they would live in the “house of the LORD.” They traveled across deserts to find the Promised Land; they lived in exile, all the while believing that God’s promise would one day be fulfilled.
Do: What do you stake your life upon? What do you believe despite all odds? How is God present with you as you wait?
Journal about what promise, hope, faith, and trust mean to you. Share your thoughts with family or friends.
Pray: Holy One, may we find hope in the midst of despair and belief in the midst of doubt. May this season of Advent find us expectant as we enter your house. Amen.

There are some traditions of Christmas I just really enjoy. Reading The Christmas Pearl by Dorothea Benton Frank is one of them
